Welcome to EAA Chapter 327 website. Our chapter consists of about 70 members distributed among the tri-states. Our membership includes a broad experience and knowledge base, that of flyers, builders, and enthusiasts, from fixed wing to rotorcraft.

Meetings are open to the public and held on the third Thursday of each month at the U.D. Flight Center at KDBQ 7:00 p.m. Occassionally, our meeting is hosted by a local airport, usually a member of our chapter. We have programs throughout the year, dependent upon availability of speakers, etc.

WWII "Dive Bomber" to speak August 27

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium will host retired Navy Cmdr. Harold L. Buell for presentation called "The Last of the "Dive Bomber Tail Hookers' from World War II" at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, in the National River Center.

The event is free. Donations will be accepted and will support the Blue Star Museum, which provides free museum admission to families of active duty military personnel.

A native Iowan, Buell flew three combat cruises from the USS Yorktown, USS Saratoga, USS Enterprise and USS Hornet. He was present at all five of the carrier versus carrier battles: Coral Sea, Midway, Eastern Solomons, Santa Cruz and the Philippine Sea. He also spent a month with the "Cactus Air Force" on Guadalcanal. Buell is the only carrier pilot alive to have survived all those encounters.

Seating is limited to 130 attendees and is on first-come, first-served basis.

Call 563-557-9545 for more information.
